Hello,
I'm sending this to you by means of my new Hotmail account. A guy in Maryborough helped me to set it up, but this is the first time that I am making use of it. The library here in Bundaberg has Internet access available for free, though you have to book ahead and it is very popular. What's more you can't print, or save anything on a floppy, but then that's OK cause everything gets saved within Hotmail itself so it's all safe, and I can print anything I need to at a later stage.

By the way, that reminds me, my sponsorship deal with Pegasus (I've had free subscription for the past 12 months) comes to an end at the the end of April and at this stage I haven't heard from them about an extension, or some sort of new arrangement. So, if anything goes wrong in that area, i.e. if you send a message to my Pegasus addres which bounces, then you can still contact me through Hotmail:-

Don Pattenden <hotpedals@hotmail.com>

And that reminds me in turn, that when I checked my incoming email a few days ago, there were only 3 personal messages waiting for me; the rest were all from the ABC Discussion Group ("Click-On") I belong to. That's unusual. So if perchance you've sent anything to me since my previous Newsletter (sent from Hervey Bay) then please let me know, and send it again.

Timely to remind you that I really appreciate getting messages even though most of the time I don't have time to reply. And actually, I must admit I felt just a little lonely and neglected when I found so few messages waiting for me.

This is crazy. I have only minutes left of my one hour booking here, and so much to tell you; lots and lots. I have spent most of the hour getting to know how Hotmail works. Now I'll have to rush.

Actually I've been in Bundaberg for 2 weeks now. When I first arrived, I booked in at the Caravan Park for one week because it's a bit cheaper that way, and because it's a good park, only $10 per night ($65 per week) and there's a very good campers kitchen with gas stove , fridge, etc. which I've had almost completely to myself. Gave me a chance to get a few things done while in town, and to go on a few day trips eg down to the local beach at Bargara.

The weather was superb for most of that week and I enjoyed myself. Felt I'd earned a break. Had been a fairly heavy ride from Hervey Bay, over the space of 3 solid days, camping partly at rest areas (for free, but no showers, no lighting etc.)

Then the weather changed and suddenly it was wet and cold. Also my tent-fly started tearing and falling apart so had to wait for a new one to come by post from Melbourne. Ho hum. always complications!!!

My time's up!

Til next time,
Don.
